THEATRE OUTSIDE LONDON

Just about every city and town in Britain has a theatre, either producing its own shows (some of which later come to London) or hosting touring productions, often of recent London hits.

 Here are links to some of the leading producing theatres in Britain, so you can see what they'll be offering when you visit

In addition, many shows that begin in London also tour the country, sometimes while the original is still running. If a touring production plays a city you're in, check our current drama, comedy or musical listings, or our archive of past shows, to see our review of the London version. (Be aware that in many cases the touring show will have a different cast.)

In August 2011 we reviewed almost 150 shows at the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe, traditionally the beginning of the touring year.
